No B.S. Publicist

A news cycle that’s always on means you’re  always on. How you share stories – their tone and target – is how people know you. To them, perception is reality. Hi – I’m Gail. I’m a publicist, writer, freelance stage manager, patio enthusiast and aunt to super bright kids (well, they are …). I work with some of the top names in sports and media and help authors rally readers. When I take on a project in any genre, it’s because I know I can blast through marketing noise to get you known.

Sports
From strategic storytelling and message management to crisis communication, I’m in contact with people who play in the sports sandbox. I know who’s watching and talking and where and how to connect you or your team.

Authors
Authors are more than what’s on the pages they publish. I dig into their stories and identify which will attract readers and media and when. (Timing is, after all, everything.) If a book hasn’t yet gone to press — a great time to huddle with a publicist — I may suggest ways to maximize future marketing and publicity potential.

Media
Among the greatest nods of confidence I receive is when a reporter contacts me about enhancing their brands. I understand media, its challenges and influence as well as anyone in public relations and publicity. I’ve helped reporters publicize their books, create crisis strategies and transition from company bylines to new ventures. My work with broadcasters began in the booth and grew to help master their messages beyond the mic.

Communicators (that’s us)
We are gifted with dozens of ways to communicate, and it’s my privilege to help you craft your message and build conversations where your fans hang out. From inviting people to peek behind the scenes, to celebrations and announcements, to contributing to complex conversations, I help find the right route for you to be heard. Publicity is a team sport, The most productive projects are candid, consistent, colorful and collaborative. Oh, they can be fun, too.

Background — my accidental path to publicity.

I wanted to be a lawyer when I grew up. Somewhere along the way, that vision veered toward journalism. I studied and dabbled in journalism before I discovered the high I felt creating the foundation of a story and building it through messaging. Nearly 15 years in collegiate sports information (former Metro Collegiate Athletic Conference, University of Georgia, University of South Florida) preceded a stop in agency public relations. Each led me to help others, — maybe you — share stories with purpose and intention.
